The Sea, The Moon And You
The sea doesn’t know what I know,
she only washes softly
against the nearby shores.
Perhaps she wishes
her waves could reach further
so she could embrace something unfamiliar
with her touch.
But for now, she remains contained
on that same familiar shore.
Maybe the next raging storm
will set her free to test her boundaries.
I have tested borders too, but my heart
always found its way back home to you.
The grieving moon has tasted heartache
as a fading companion star
fell unexpectedly
from the depths of the dark, quivering sky.
But it doesn’t know or understand
what I would do if I lost you.
Most days, I have faith in our love,
more than able to imagine forever in your arms.
But I am not a fool,
I know that one tiny tip of fate’s scales
could unravel the best relationship.
So every day I pray that you will always be
my one true destiny.
